AUSTRALIA HOUSE
A 2011 competition for a new art gallery and temporary residence for up to 6 artists, located near Nagano, Japan. The scheme features a "plywood basket" structure that functions to contain programmatic elements as well as support a stress-skin panel envelope, all whilst allowing a rich dialogue with the surrounding environment [in collaboration with Justin Twohill, Michael Bugelli, and Kamran Granfar]. -
ZORB - NIMBIN
Development proposal for an amenities, sales, and launch facility in Nimbin NSW, to facilitate one of the world's longest proposed Zorb runs. -
FIRE STATION PARK BANGALOW
Refurbishment of existing pocket park in the centre of Bangalow NSW featuring native plantings, steel and polycarbonate shade "trees", timber seating, and grandstand steps which mediate between the levels of the site. -
erase[r]oom
Design/build conference room in the University of Michigan Architecture Dean's suite. Walls are clad with pin-up surfaces and white dry-erase board, the ceiling a laser cut grid of diffusers, and the floor a skewed surface of MDF tiles. A CNC milled table with dryerase top is anchored at centre by a single column. Completed 2003 [in collaboration with Jarod Allen]. -
UNITED GROUND: WORLD TRADE CENTER MEMORIAL [ unbuilt competition ]
Competition entry for the 9/11 Memorial, NYC. Proposal to reconnect the urban fabric of lower Manhattan at the WTC site through the introduction of a folded ground plane as civic space, hovering above an introspective memorial framed by geothermally tempered hydroponic gardens. 2003 [in collaboration with Salomon Frausto]. -
ANAMNESIS: Mies van der Rohe Memorial [ unbuilt competition ]
Competition to honour the 20th century architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe on the site of his Detroit-based Lafayette Park housing towers. 2004 [in collaboration with Cynthia Pachikara and Reto Geiser].
